College transition 101

Two and a-half weeks until Thanksgiving. Wow! Time to do a little reality check. Most mid-terms are done and major papers or projects will be due at the end of the month.

Here are three things to do before Thanksgiving.

1. Find out where you stand grade-wise in each class.
   • Make a list of all the assignments for each class.
   • Write the grades you have earned so far.
   • This should give you a good idea of your semester average so far.
   • This will also show you which assignments or exams (2 maybe 3 at the most) are left to be completed before finals.

2. Put all assignments yet to be completed on the calendar.
   • Make a time table to complete each project or paper.
   • Give yourself mini-deadlines to complete sections of your assignment.
   • Go see your professor in their office to discuss your paper/project to make sure you are on the right track.

3. Be realistic about Thanksgiving break.
   • Try to get as much school work done before Thanksgiving break.
   • Make time for with family and friends.
