Start studying for your first exam immediately after your first class meeting.

• On your syllabus you’ll find when your first exam will be. Put that date on your calendar. Ask yourself. How many days do I have until the first exam? Often that answer is 7 days.

• Your professor might have a study guide for Exam 1 online. Look around the course website. Or ask the professor.

• First exams are often over terms and definitions.

• Start filling out your study guide using your textbook before the 2nd class meeting. You don’t have to finish but getting a head start will make the next in-class lecture make sense.

• Add information from your lecture notes onto your Exam 1 study guide.

• Work on your Exam 1 study guide every day.
